Always Dream Big

New Witch’s Year, New Column…

In 2015, I began a column called Dream Big. It then became a online show, and then it faded away with time. However, time has moved on, and several years have passed since I had written anything at all, as far as this column is concerned, or that one anyway. Now, it is a new year, a witch’s year, based on the Celtic calendar, and I’m ready to start it off right. It’s time…

The past several years have been atrocious, I think everyone on the planet can attest to that. Life as we know it came to a crashing halt, lives passed on, life in general was continuously interrupted, and here we are today, still trying to get things back to where it was before. Although we can keep picking up the pieces where we left off, or we can literally just say f*ck it and just start over. I say we toss the past aside, learn from our mistakes, and simply start over with a fresh outlook on life. There is absolutely no reason to cling to the past like a cat in a doorway, when you’re just trying to give it a bath. How ungrateful. Does this cat not understand what you’re trying to do for it? Really. Such is life. The same holds true for ourselves, you can’t keep doing the same old toxic behaviors and expect a better outcome. It doesn’t work that way, you have to let go, learn your lesson, and move on. It is the only way that we can ever heal.

Lesson learned. I have had many of these twice over, and I can assure you right now that I’m exhausted. Honestly, I’m just trying to do the best I can. I have spent the passed two years or so trying to decide what to do with my life, this column, the Dream Big show, acting, writing, modeling, and I kept being circumvented by my own fears, self-doubt, self-sabotage, and personal distress. Did I mention the procrastination that tagged along with my insecurities, as if it were some old cartoon with the tiny dog; annoyingly jumping up and down, asking the big dog “what are we doing today?”, and how it led to doing absolutely nothing. A lot had much ado about nothing, but everything at the same time, and I’m sure several of you had experienced this exact same thing. And I’m sure many of you are still struggling with the aftermath of the ‘covid years’; coping in the best way that you can. I personally just took a timeout on some things, and only choosing to do a few projects at a time, spacing them out, then making sure that I practiced a little self-care in the process.

Now this witch is back, and I’m ready to take control of my life again. No longer will I be a slave to my fears, self-doubt, or even allow the trauma bond with procrastination hold me back now. I am here to start anew, and write that next chapter in my life. I know that it will not be easy starting over, but sometimes you just have to. I have to. Will things be the same? Probably not. Will I keep a little of something old to keep it nostalgic? Yes, I believe so. I honestly don’t want to take away the feel of the old column, but I will keep some things and share what I have going on, my successes, and my failures, perhaps even other topics, and or possible reviews on random things. Also, I will not be numbering the columns as I did before, or schedule posting it on a specific day or time as to when I’ll be posting the new column, you’ll just have to wait for it, and be surprised, just as I shall be. I am also planning to go back to my old school way of interviewing people, and keep it simple with the traditional way of writing it, instead of filming it. So if you would be interested in being interviewed by yours truly, then please feel free to contact me, and we can be pen pals. I do hope that these subtle changes will be embraced by my readers, as opposed to being rejected obviously, but I will do my best to keep you, the reader, readily entertained.

I want to thank everyone for their patience, especially if you’ve been waiting patiently for the return of the column, or just to find out what happened with the original one. Anyhoo, it is appreciated, and I do hope that you will keep up with the new one.

Stay positive out there, don’t give up, and always dream big…
